I am an individual UK-based freelance writer, who has always harboured a great love of books; encompassing an obsessive fascination with both literature and language in a large and eclectic range of contexts. I would consider myself to be well-read and believe that the A grades achieved in Literature and Language at GCSE, and the B grade I achieved in the Literature and Language combined A-Level I took, demonstrate my academic ability in this area. My favourite pastimes are reading, writing (in many different forms) or studying books on an entire range of literary based topics, including textual analysis, general grammatical and stylistic technique and the world of publishing. I am committed to reading at least two or three different broadsheet newspapers every week, as well as one or two different publications of my choosing in order to expand my knowledge and experience of different forms and variations of journalese. Furthermore, I have a basic knowledge of, and keen interest in, the history of the English language itself.

Whilst studying for my A-Levels between 2005 and 2007, I was a writer, and eventually section editor for the college magazine at the time, The Point. The magazine was distributed freely amongst the students of the college and contained various reviews and articles deemed to be of particular interest to the student body. In addition to submitting multiple articles for each issue, and attending weekly meetings to discuss the direction of, and specific pieces to be included in each edition, my role as section editor involved helping other, sometimes less confident writers to structure their articles, and editing whatever was to appear in my section in terms of general spelling and grammar.

During a trip to Thailand in 2008, I spent two months working for a Thai travel agency (Visa Travel), who paid me to gather resources and write tourist information for the website accompanying their business. The work I did for them can be found at www.guide4thailand.com, where I am able to take credit for everything under the ‘Destinations’ and ‘Activities’ sections. I was paid in two installments, the latter of which I did not receive until the agreed work was completed. I was responsible for delegating my time over the two months in order to ensure I completed everything to an equally high standard, and that I had edited it fully before it was to be included in the website.

I specialise primarily in articles about fashion and beauty, relationships, health and well being, food and drink, philosophy, literary theory and travel.

I am very excited to have started writing regular articles for Suite101.com, on a large range of topics. All of these can be found from links on this page.

I currently work as a feature writer on two local magazines: Worcestershire Now and it's sister, Now Weddings.
